Microaggressions are brief and commonplace verbal, behavioral, and environmental indignities whether intentional or unintentional that communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative racial slights and insults towards people of color. Perpetrators of microaggression are often unaware that they engage in such communication when they interact with racial/ethnic minorities.
