6 2011 NextGen Survey GPS Use The majority of respondents use an advanced panel mounted GPS unit, capable of instrument navigation.  Just 10% do not use a GPS Most respondents did not have any GPS failures within the last 18 months (73%)  Average of 0.65 failures per respondent in the last 18 months 50% of respondents have a WAAS equipped GPS 6 Approximately how many times has your GPS failed or lost signal over the last 18 months? 7 2011 NextGen Survey Equipage Plan 34% of aircraft owner respondents stated that they don’t plan to equip for ADS-B. 22% plan to equip between 2012 and 2014 Cost of equipping was a high concern with aircraft owners. 32% of aircraft owners stated a change in the cost of avionics units would make them want to equip with ADS- B sooner  An additional 24% stated the cost of avionics installation/certification would influence equipage timing 7 When do you anticipate equipping your aircraft for ADS-B?
