5 What is Physical Literacy? Individuals who are physically literate move with competence in a wide variety of physical activities that benefit the development of the whole person -Physical and Health Education Canada

6 Why is Physical Literacy Important?  If a child misses out on learning fundamental movement skills, or has a negative physical education experience, they are unlikely to chose to take part in a sport activity that requires expertise in that skill Canadian Sport for Life. 7 Why is it Important for Teachers?  The personal characteristics of an instructor can lead to either a good or a bad experience in a sporting activity  A bad experience in physical education class can turn someone off sports for good Strean, William.
