5 Jesus Makes Enemies Jesus made enemies among the powerful Jewish leaders. Why? He undermined their authority. He did not respect Jewish teachings. Jesus made enemies with Rome. Why? He was very popular with many Jews and he could have become a political leader against them. Some Jewish leaders denounced Jesus to the Roman authorities, who executed him. Jesus last words, “ Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.“ How could this impact the spread of Christianity?
