5 COMMAND SUPPLY DISCIPLINE PROGRAM WHAT IS CSDP? –Command Supply Discipline Program- The compliance with established DA regulations to effectively administer supply economy. It applies to the use of supply funds and to all functions and levels of operation Maximizing the use of our supplies and equipment through the prevention of fraud waste and abuse

6 COMMAND SUPPLY DISCIPLINE PROGRAM WHAT IS SUPPLY ECONOMY? –Supply Economy- The conservation of materials by every individual dealing with Army supplies to ensure that only the proper amount is used to accomplish the task.

7 COMMAND SUPPLY DISCIPLINE PROGRAM CLASSES OF SUPPLY –I Subsistence; Rations –II Expendable/Durable items; –III POL; Oil, Fuel –IV Construction Materials; Lumber, Sandbags –V Ammunition –VI Personal Demand Items; Soap, Toothpaste –VII Major End Items; Vehicles –VIII Medical Supplies; Litters, Needles –IX Repair Parts; Batteries, Tires –XNon-Military Items; Landscaping

8 COMMAND SUPPLY DISCIPLINE PROGRAM Expendable Property Items –Items that are consumed during use or lose their identity during use –Items with a unit price of $100.00 or less and not otherwise classified as durable or nonexpendable –Expendable items are considered exhausted upon issue and require no formal accounting after issue to the user level

9 COMMAND SUPPLY DISCIPLINE PROGRAM Nonexpendable Property Items –Items that are not consumed during use and retain their original identity during use –Nonexpendable items require formal accountability throughout the life of the item

10 COMMAND SUPPLY DISCIPLINE PROGRAM Durable Property Items –Items that are not consumed during use but because of their unique characteristics require hand receipt control –All tools, components of end items and durable components of sets kits and outfits will be accounted for using hand receipt annexes or component lists

11 COMMAND SUPPLY DISCIPLINE PROGRAM Controlling components of end items –Hand-receipt annex procedures Items with components that have nonexpendable or durable shortages must be recorded on DA 2062 and placed on order Only the items that are short need to be listed

12 COMMAND SUPPLY DISCIPLINE PROGRAM Controlling components of end items –Component hand receipt procedures A hand receipt for sets kits and outfits is a component hand receipt that lists all components less expendables and consumables All components are listed, only on-hand quantities are signed for

13 COMMAND SUPPLY DISCIPLINE PROGRAM Accountability –The obligation of a person to keep records of all property or funds such as: Identification data Gains/losses Due ins/due outs Balances on hand or in use

14 COMMAND SUPPLY DISCIPLINE PROGRAM Responsibility –The obligation of an individual to ensure that all government property and funds entrusted to his/her possession, command or supervisory are properly used and cared for, and that proper custody and safekeeping are provided

16 COMMAND SUPPLY DISCIPLINE PROGRAM Command Responsibility –The obligation the commander to ensure that all government property within his command is properly used and cared for

17 COMMAND SUPPLY DISCIPLINE PROGRAM Supervisory Responsibility –The obligation a supervisor to ensure that all government property issued to or used by his subordinates is properly used and cared for and that proper custody and safekeeping are provided. –It is inherent in all supervisory positions and is not contingent upon signed hand receipts.

18 COMMAND SUPPLY DISCIPLINE PROGRAM Direct Responsibility –The obligation of a person to ensure that all government property for which he or she has receipted is properly used and cared for

19 COMMAND SUPPLY DISCIPLINE PROGRAM Personal Responsibility –The obligation of a person to exercise reasonable and prudent actions to properly use, care for, and safeguard all property in his or her possession. This applies with or without a hand receipt
