14 May search for subjects. authors, and titles. Can be searched in the media center, classrooms, homes, or any place with Internet access. Know immediately if the material is in the media center or checked out.

18 Free, reliable databases available to all S.C. residents No login name or password is needed at school, but they are required when accessed from home (Available from media specialist or public librarian)

20 A way of searching the media center’s online catalog (Accent), DISCUS, and Internet web sites all at the same time in a single search

24 Reading initiative to encourage voluntary free reading

25 Lunch Bunch Book Club Meets once a month for lunch and discussion of “book of the month”

26 After-School Book Club Open to participants in the after-school program Meets each Wednesday from 3:30 until 4:30 p.m. Discussion on books read outside of class (homework) Help in book selection Book reviews

27 Reading motivation and management program that encourages independent reading Students may earn points, prizes, and extra credit in English by reading books and passing comprehension quizzes on the computer
