1 WELCOME to the Lewis & Clark High School LIBRARY MEDIA CENTER 2013-14 Library Media Specialist Lynda Tschabold (Mrs. T.) 354-6933 lyndat@spokaneschools.org Library Assistant Ms. Bass

2 Library Code of Conduct  Please no food or drink at the computers, water bottles are allowed at tables  Have a signed purple library pass from a teacher when visiting from a class and remember to sign in at the circulation counter. You also need to sign in if you are coming in from Running Start or if you have a Free Period.  Use the computers only for school work or projects, do not play games or access inappropriate web sites (library staff can monitor student use)  Remember to keep your voices low while using the library  Treat your facility and resources with respect, leave your table area tidy and push in your chair when leaving

3 Library Hours 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM Monday – Friday The library is open every morning and during lunch and after school. Students Can… Checkout books Study Read Work on homework Use computer for research

4 Library Books Happy Reading! Students may check out five books or magazines at a time Materials are checked out for two weeks You can renew materials for an extra two weeks Students may not check out books if they have overdue books or owe a fine Students who lose or damage library materials will be billed for the replacement cost

5 Library Information… To access the library book catalog (Follett Destiny) Click on the pile of books on your desktop or follow the link on the library web page. The library subscribes to a variety of magazines including… Seventeen, National Geographic, People, Car and Driver, Skateboard, Sports Illus., and Time  We have 100 computers in the library  We have 2 black and white printers  We have 1 copier…please check with library staff before using copier. The Library subscribes to many databases to help you with your research…go to lctigers.com>staff sites>library to access the databases

6 Printers and Printing Policy School printers are for school assignments only! Do not print an entire web site….. Copy/Paste Highlight and select a portion Preview before printing It will print to printer Lib1 or Lib2 at circulation counter

7 Using Library Computers Reminders Your account: Username: student ID# Password: birthday - 6 digits… 051294 *See me if your account is not working… I can’t help you with class accounts… Do not share your username and password Save your information to thumb drive or class folder….. K drive is temporary Log-off the computer when you are finished You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your lD
