Organisms seek to free themselves from harmful stimulus. 2.Evolved from survival 3.Freedom is not “loved,” but biologically beneficial. 4.Operant conditioning explains our ideas of freedom. 5.Product of biological “endowment” 6.“Literature of Freedom”- observable body of work that encourages people to free themselves from aversion. 7.Must account behavior to what is observable; can not measure a philosophy as an influence of behavior. 8.This “Literature” discusses a “freer” experience that can be related to operant conditioning. 9.Once being free, no more action is required. 3 1.Freedom must be inserted into Freud’s theory of personality. 2.Consciousness is a product of inherent personality qualities- Id, Ego, Super-Ego, outside world. 3.Unconscious- influences our behavior in ways we can not full understand. 4.Preconscious- mental thing have the ability to recall information. 5.Ego- regulates impulses of id and pressures of the Super- Ego.
