2 Attend every class - on time. 5 minutes late and you will be marked as absent. Catch up on missed work in your own time. Mobile phones turned off or to silent. Phones may be confiscated if they cause disruption to class, or during assessments. No talking over the instructor, or other students. All students are expected to have a Flash drive/memory stick. You must save all your work regularly. Class rules

3 Are completed in class during lessons 6, 8, 10 and 11 to 14. Must be completed by end of lesson on the due date. If not completed by the due date you will not be eligible for an A or a B grading. Can only be attempted once. Very little opportunity for extensions or re- submissions. Applications for extension or re-submission must be requested in advance with Mr Wayne. Assessments

4 Grades are based on 7 criteria (each has 3 possible point values) which include your academic skills and understanding: Grading 1.Consistent understanding of module content 2.Consistent demonstration of module skills 3.Offers new ideas and original thought 4.Applies learned skills to new and different environments 5.Demonstrates commitment and enthusiasm 6.Meets organizational requirements 7.Demonstrates practical understanding of work culture

5 Do not expect an A, most of you will get a C, some may get a B If attendance is below 80% you are not meeting organizational requirements (6) The more help you require during assessments – from the teacher or other students, the less you are able to demonstrate understanding and application (1,2,3,4) If you are regularly absent, late to class, or leave early: You cannot consistently demonstrate skills or understanding (1,2). You are not effectively participating in class or showing how you can apply skills in different situations (3,4). You are not showing commitment or enthusiasm (5,6,7). You are not showing practical understanding of work culture (7) Poor attitude is shown if you complain about the requirements of attendance (5,7) or about class work and assessment (1,2,3,4) and do nothing to improve How grading is determined…

7 Conserving paper RPL Plagiarism Organization policies and procedures If you feel you have the skills talk to your instructor and Mr Wayne. If you apply for RPL you will not be eligible for an A or B grading. Plagiarism is stealing other peoples idea. Plagiarism is lying. Plagiarism violates copyright laws.
