28 Calling via Internet DSL-Telephony
SIP-Telephony Calling via Internet DSL-Telephony

29 SIP Telephony Requirements
Requires MediaGateway (M100-IP resp. MG+ETH1-1) DSL-access with enough bandwidth, mainly upstream For professional use symmetrical DSL Bandwidth per speech channel about 100 kbps with G.711 SIP account from a provider Under test: ARCOR DDI Always running: QSC (incl. DDI !!) SIPgate t-online, 1&1, Freenet, a.o.

30 Configuration – Automated Route Selection
Configurator\LCR Configuration For well-known prefixes use LCR Create new provider, i.e. ”SIPgate“ – Route „SIP-trunk“ I.e. automated selection in Germany ; this area code is used for SIP-numbers only Configurator\Phone book One entry can be used for SIP (i.e. for SIP in business use ”private“ number). The entry contents the prefix for SIP trunk, i.e. “8” instead of “0” or “9” (z.B. ” “). This number can be used as default number.

31 Full Comfort There are three comfortable ways to initiate SIP calls:
Automated with LCR (ARS) Automated from Phone Book Manually dialling a route prefix Emergency calls should use standard wired trunks – if available! In case of moving sites, the location prefix is misleading for important help services – e.g. the fire department arrives on wrong city due to misleading prefix… Please bear in mind that the costs of transfer from Internet/SIP to the wired network or GSM!
