11 Supplies Needed for the Classroom
Your student is provided with everything they need for a successful school year. Items that would be suitable to donate to the classroom would include: Ticonderoga pencils or other high quality pencils hand sanitizer books sanitizing wipes toys or treats we could use in our classroom sale granola bars, or other healthy snacks that don’t expire quickly bottled water (It will be very hot the first few weeks of school and a water bottle is recommended for hydration.) Trapper keepers and pencil containers are not allowed due to distractions of learning and custodial issues. Students may not use pen on any assignment unless required by the teacher (not even erasable ink). Personal items such as mp3 players, video games, and other toys should be left at home. These types of items may be confiscated and kept until the end of the year, or until a parent or guardian comes to pick it up. Cell phone permission slips must be filled out in the office and cell phones should be turned off during school hours. Students should always have a book to read at home and at school.

12 Birthdays You may bring a store bought treat for birthdays. Be sure to bring enough for everyone. We will celebrate summer birthdays on half birthdays.

13 Bathroom Pass Each student will be expected to use the restroom at the designated times, but a pass is provided for emergencies. There is five punches per quarter. Students who use their breaks appropriately and never punch their pass will be rewarded.

14 Classroom Management We will be giving “class money” to reward students. At the end of each quarter students will have the opportunity to bring donations to the class auction. Teachers will also add prizes to the auction. Money can also be taken away when students are not on task. For more serious problems parents will be called and a plan of action will be made. We would like the consequence to fit the misbehavior whenever possible.

15 Discipline Policy Room Rules
Be Respectful Stay on Task Follow directions Be prepared Keeps hands and feet to self Classroom and school expectations will be discussed as a classroom community. Consequences will be based upon each individual offense. We believe in warnings and reminders for everyday slip ups and rewarding exceptional behavior. However, serious offenses will not be tolerated and will require immediate discipline. Negative attitudes, being unkind to others, and repeated offenses will warrant a call home and an office referral.

16 Daily Planner Your child will receive a planner to record homework assignments daily. Please check it every Friday and sign it. Planner needs to be returned at the beginning of each week. This will be recorded and be part of your students grade. You can communicate with us through the planner, , text, or a phone call.

17 Weekly Progress Report / Friday Activities
Expect your student to receive note home each Friday that either congratulates them for having no missing work or lists the assignments that they are missing. The students will have until Tuesday to have the work handed in, completed and a parent’s signature, as well as recorded reading minutes of at least 5 days a week is required to attend the activity. If the student is missing any of the assignments (including reading minutes) or a signature they will not be able to attend Friday Activity, no exceptions! Students who are able to attend the Friday activity will participate in an extra P.E. or free time in the computer lab. Students who are unable to participate in the Friday Activity, due to missing work (reading minutes) or missing parent signature will spend that time working on the missing work.

18 Attendance Please try your very best not to miss any school days. (see attendance note in packet) It is the students responsibility to make sure that all assignments are completed within a week of the absence. Keep good communication with your teacher for help with assignments that were missed. After 3 unexcused absences student will receive an oops ticket. After 5 there will be a phone call home and principal will be notified.
