Macbeth Four Paragraph Essay Your challenge: To write a four paragraph essay describing your response to one of the Deep, Deep Questions that we started this unit with. Make sure to have a clear thesis, introduction, two body paragraphs with examples from Macbeth, and a conclusion. We will spend the next two weeks going over structure, writing, peer editing, and also using some new software to improve your writing. English 10 – Monday Week Nine

Macbeth Four Paragraph Essay Step One, choose a Deep, Deep Question: 1. Do women have to be masculine in order to be powerful? 2. What impact do dreams or dream-like states have on our waking lives? 3. To what extent is ambition healthy? When does it become destructive? 4. What drives people over the edge? What causes them to lose control of themselves? 5. Do we control our own destinies, or do our destinies control us? Is there such a thing as fate? English 10 – Monday Week Nine

Macbeth Four Paragraph Essay Step Two, write a thesis statement: 1.Clear (easy to understand; carefully worded) 2.Specific (lays out arguments for two body paragraphs) 3.Analytical (makes a judgment and delves deeper than plot summary) Lays out two main points Use Macbeth in the title Do not use personal words English 10 – Monday Week Nine

Macbeth Four Paragraph Essay Examples: I believe in fate because we can't peer into the future and see what life has in store for us. We can only take what life throws at us as it comes. Fate is a realistic thing because we cannot control the future, like Macbeth tried to do. In Shakespeares Macbeth, the main character, Macbeth, tries to control his own destiny, which resulted in his actions being punished and fate deciding his life. English 10 – Monday Week Nine

Macbeth Four Paragraph Essay Step Three, write a rough outline: Introduction (Attention getter, Explain the attention getter, background information, and Thesis) First paragraph (Topic sentence) Second paragraph (Topic sentence) Conclusion (Recap thesis, explain the main points, and hit it home) Example: See templatetemplate English 10 – Monday Week Nine

Come, seeling night, Scarf up the tender eye of pitiful day; And with thy bloody and invisible hand Cancel and tear to pieces that great bond Which keeps me pale! Light thickens; and the crow Makes wing to the rooky wood: Good things of day begin to droop and drowse; While night's black agents to their preys do rouse.
