1 Do you know him? Picasso: was a Spanish painter, sculptor, poet and playwright who spent most of his adult life in France. As one of the greatest and most influential artists of the 20th century, he is known for co-founding the Cubist movement.

4 Picasso Cubist Self Portraits Cubism was an innovative art movement pioneered by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. In Cubism, artists began to look at subjects in new ways in an effort to depict three-dimensions on a flat canvas. They would break up the subject into many different shapes and then repaint it from different angles. Cubism paved the way for many different modern movements of art in the 20th century.

5 Three Musicians Although it looks like the picture is made out of cut up pieces of colored paper, it is actually a painting. In the painting it is difficult to tell where one musician ends and the next begins. This could represent the harmony of the music as the musicians play together. This artwork is in the New York Museum of Modern Art now.

7 Flamenco: is a form of Spanish folk music. It includes singing, guitar playing, dance and handclaps. Gipsies are very often named as the fathers of Flamenco, and at least it can be taken for certain that they played an important part in its creation.
