Ready to go green ? As a green member of the European Parliament I'm here to speak about environmental issues. First of all, let us try to understand why the planet needs us Somewhere in America….

Our seas and rivers are polluted by oil spills, rejections of chemical and waste water. Indeed, factories dont' care about it, as humans who throw their garbage into seas... Let's begin with water pollution

Air pollution is really important. Because this pollution forms the greenhouse gases which keep heating the atmosphere up. The global warming is a major ecological problem chemists don't care about polluting the planet Then, air pollution

Now let's talk about land pollution Land pollution is the degradation of earth’s land surfaces often caused by human activities. Disposal of urban and industrial wastes, exploitation of minerals, and improper use of soil by inadequate agricultural practices are a few of the contributing Examples of Land Pollution Soil Pollution Soil pollution is mainly due to chemicals in herbicides (weed killers) and pesticides (poisons which kill insects and other invertebrate pests). Litter is waste material dumped in public places such as streets, parks, picnic areas, at bus stops and near shops. Deforestation Deforestation generally increases rates of soil erosion, by increasing the amount of runoff and reducing the protection of the soil from tree litter. This can be an advantage in excessively leached tropical rain forest soils. Forestry operations themselves also increase erosion through the development of roads and the use of mechanized equipment.

An example of a lost species, the dodo. Wolf was endangered, but now itis protected. The polar bear is really endangered, cause of global warming, which causes the ice to melt You surely know that too many wildlife species are endangered. Luckily enough, humans take care of the problem and regulate hunting, poaching, fishing, reintroduce and protect endangered species. But for many of them, it's already too late... Endangered species

To my mind, the biggest problem is that some people don't realize. They think that it's not important, they throw their rubbish anywhere, overconsume... However, never forget that insignificant actions seem to be nothing, but if everybody does it... Imagine that a drop in the ocean seems to be nothing but thousands of drops make rivers and even oceans !!! DON'T DO THIS ANYMORE !!!!!

We are DESTROYING the Planet !!! Is this TOO LATE? Will the planet disappear by OUR FAULT???

However it's not too late ! We can react and change our habits. It's high time we became environmentally-minded Let's start with overconsumption. Many people overconsume, which mean wasting food, ressources and THAT means pollution. We can avoid it.

It is that intervenes the 5R CONCEPT RECYCLE REFUSEREUSEREDUCE REFORM

Europe promised to take measures concerning the protection of the environment Develop new energies... Penalise polluters... Stop deforestation...

Once you know that, it’all belongs to you... What are you waiting for? ACT !!

Thanks for watching ! By Hugo Boitel, Tanguy Remene, élèves de 2°10 euro (Mme Barberi-Moine), LYCEE ADAM DE CRAPONNESALON DE PROVENCE
