3 Basic Belief System Christianity is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ belief in life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ “do unto others as you would have them unto you.” God created the ten commandments for people to live their life by

9 Role of Women Women in Early Christian Churches had little freedom, they weren’t allowed to speak, teach, baptize or offer in church. In modern churches women have more rights. They are allowed to be church leaders, sing in choirs, pray, teach and do other things without any restrictions. The bible refers to a number of women who played important roles: Mary (mother of Jesus), Mary Magdalene, Mary and Bertha, Eve, etc.

10 Demographics There are about 1, 995, 229, 000 Christians in the world. 33% of the world’s population The main branches of Christianity are Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox. Majority of the Christians are in U.S. and Canada (86%), Latin America (92%), Europe (76%), Australia (85%). It is the most prevalent faith in Africa (48%).
