All Rights Reserved. 4 School Transportation Funding o The Student Transportation funding formula provides FEFP funds for school district transportation based on each district's pro rata share of state transported students. o Authorized by Sections 1006.21, 1006.22, 1006.23, 1006.25, and 1011.68, Florida Statutes. o Additional funding for the transportation of certain students with disabilities o Adjustments are made for cost of living differences, percent of population outside of urban centers, and Average Bus Occupancy (ABO), i.e., the average number of eligible students transported per bus in daily service (to encourage greater bus utilization).

School Transportation Adjusted Base/Weighted Riders : Riders that have been adjusted by the term length they were served out of 180 days (most students served 90 days per semester and would receive 0.5 in survey 2 and 0.5 in survey 3). Other Adjustments / Allocation Factors : 1.Average Bus Occupancy Index (ABO) 2.Rurality Index 3.Florida Price Level Index (FPLI) 4.1.8 factor applied to weighted ESE students ESE Transportation Allocation : weighted allocation factor multiplied by legislative ESE allocation. Transportation Survey 3 Reporting Timeline 10 Survey week: All reported data should be based on ridership during this time period. End of state processing: All Survey 3 Data should be reported accurately by this date. Funding Timeline: Fiscal impact related to when survey 2 and 3 amendments are made. Final Amendment Window: amendments cannot be made after this time. Survey 2 data reported by November 14 is incorporated into payments beginning in January Survey 2 and 3 Data reported by end of March 13 th is incorporated into remaining FEFP payments between April and June Survey 2 or 3 amendments reported after March 13 will not be part of current year payments. Data amendments to survey 3 cannot be reported after July 31 Feb 9-13 March 13 July 31

Transportation Certification Letters After each survey districts must certify their Transportation FTE in an certification letter. Districts should use FTE Report F63499 or F70092 to verify FTE student data recorded in the database for use in the certification letter. This certification should be based on the report as of the close of state processing. 12
