E LECTROMAGNETIC S PECTRUM & T RANSPARENT, T RANSLUCENT, AND OPAQUE. By. Felix Santoyo

E LECTROMAGNETIC SPECTRUM Electromagnetic Spectrum- it is the range of all possible frequencies of electromagnetic radiation. Like RW,MW,IRL,UL,UV,XR,GR. The electromagnetic spectrum scale is used to determine the frequency of the different types of radiation. It also measures the wavelength of the different types of radiation. Example of Electromagnetic Spectrum: Radio waves- is used by antennas with wave lengths that are from hundreds of meters to about one single millimeter. Other examples used in electromagnetic spectrum are microwaves, terahertz radiation, infrared radiation, visible radiation, UV light, X-Rays, and Gamma Rays.

T RANSPARENT Transparent- Has the property of transmitting light without scattering so that the bodies lying beyond are seen clearly. Examples: Glass, Water, and Plastic.

T RANSLUCENT Translucent- Allowing light to pass through the object its semitransparent. Examples of Translucent: Glass, Net Curtains, and lampshades.

O PAQUE Opaque- It is not transparent or translucent, light cannot pass through it or by it. Examples: Table, Book, Wall, Pillow, Clipboard, and a wooden door.
