2 Computer Corner Defaults Settings Present a danger May allow others to access your network and your data May accidentally attract devices that slow down your network connection

3 Computer Corner What are the Defaults Settings? SSID – Wireless Network Name Administrator Name Administrator Password Key Network Settings (IP Address, router settings, security)

4 Computer Corner SSID Station Set Identifier (name of your wireless network) This should uniquely identify your wireless network when you connect your wireless devices.

5 Computer Corner Administrator Name and Password Many have a default “admin” Create a name that is not easily guessed Having no password is asking for trouble Write your settings on a piece of paper. Do not create a file and save it as “router settings”
