Throughout the year, you will also have regular spelling tests! These are important as you cannot learn a language in a few days before an exam! Also read over the ‘stratégies’ in each unit to help you deal with unfamiliar language and recycle language you already know. (see table of contents p4-5) What about homework? You will have regular learning homework and written homework. Progress in a language depends on thorough learning of new words! Refer to your checklists in your Learning Organiser for how to learn vocabulary and how to set out written homework. What will I need? You will be given the text book Voilà 1 and an activity booklet. In addition, you will need 3 lined exercise books and a small notebook for tests. It is a good idea to keep all your French books in a plastic folder to protect them. Can I use computers to help me learn a language? Of course! You will have the opportunity to use computers in class. Your teacher will also give you some useful websites with lots of fun activities.
