IMPLEMENTATION AND OPERATION STRATEGIES The implementation of the national fiber optic backbone is underway and will extend access network to all academic and research institutions in the country. The main National Data Center and Data disaster recovery system will be located at RITA premises (Rwanda Information Technology Authority) – consideration to host RwEdNet servers as well. The national NOC will also be located at RITA – RwEdNet proposes to set up two NOCs on its own, one at NUR (Huye) and a second at KIST (Kigali) with a redundancy mechanism.
