3. STATEMENT OF PROBLEM This paper studied closely on the cultural and architectural styles transmitted through old city of Nicosia. The findings of this research will certainly contribute to knowledge of bars and restaurant in old city and on the physical, social and visual views of architecture and cultural translation in field studied. AIM AND OBJECTIVES The Main goal of this report is to study and analyze the old city of Nicosia, north Cyprus. Objectives: -features of bars and restaurant -the relation between culture values and architecture - improve archi-cultural translation of bars and restaurant in old city

7. BARS, RESTAURANTS AND CAFES : Restaurant : prepares and serves food, drink and dessert to customers in return for money. The public dinning room that came ultimately to be known as a restaurant originated from France.

9. Café : is an establishment which serves prepared coffee or other hot beverages.

10. People are naturally motivated to get together, to meet, communicate, and socialize. These actions have been evaluated and have been the focal point of the configuration of cities throughout history. Increase in population Change in the structure of the population Houses on the main axis have been turned into shops, restaurants, cafes.

11. From the days of the Ottoman Empire through the present, coffee has played an important role in Turkish-Cypriot lifestyle and culture. Cyprus has a huge cafe culture with open-air cafes and bars where it's traditional to sit and drink Turkish Coffee and play Tavli and talk about politics and their life. It was also a right place for obtain all the news of the village, the country and the whole world. Today, Coffee houses (kahvehane) in Cyprus continue their role in society as a meeting place for both the cultured citizen and the travelers.

CONCLUSION  Cyprus has a rich history.  Walled city of Nicosia developed under different empires.  Walled city play an important role in Nicosia.  Each period present its cultures, symbolisms, and architectural styles.  Culture and architecture has influenced by politic, economy, religion, border, protective wall, language.  Places with the identity is based on the culture.  People are very friendly, Like being in Society  Etiquette says that: It is not polite to leave before the coffee cup gets cold.

27.  Most tourists are seen in the walled city.  Büyük Hun (CARAVANSERAI, A MONUMENT OF SILK ROAD ) is : one of the important archi-cultural translation. ( past & present)  The result of the archi-cultural translation of all bars and restaurant in 4 streets: 50 % good 30% poor 20% fair

28. RECOMMENDATION  Past being reworked and it should be adapted to present creatively.  Keep going to transmit the historical background, culture and national identity to future generations. THANK YOU
