2 How To Create Your Book Outline 1. Determine WHAT the core/primary message of your book will be. – What are you wanting to communicate? – What do you want people to know/think/believe? – What is it that sets you apart? – What makes you Unique? 2. Decide WHO your Market will be – Who will most likely purchase your book? – Who will you give it to? – Whom do you want to Attract? 3. Write a Topic at the Top of Each Slide 4. Complete that slide with supporting content in bullet point format. This is what you will use to Speak-to-Write your book.

3 WHAT is Your Central Message? Remember to keep your audience’s needs central to what you want to say. They are asking one question: “What’s In It For Me?” Answer this in terms of Benefits they receive, not just Features you offer. Answer: WHY should they read this book? WHAT will they gain? HOW will it make their life better?

5 WHO is Your Primary Audience? New Prospects? Current Customers? Referrals? Other? People want to Know, Like & Trust you. Help them do this by being “real.” Be yourself. Don’t use technical terms. Speak as if you are talking to a prospect or customer. Be genuine!

7 Outline Slides for Your Book Use the following slides to create the Outline for your book. Use 1 slide per Topic. Don’t be concerned with getting everything in the proper order at this point. Simply get your ideas out of your head and onto the slide. You can rearrange them later. Bullet point supporting content on each slide. This is what you will use as a “spring board” to explain the Topic when you record your book. Add/Insert more slides as needed

9 Images for your book You’ll receive the images contained in the 77 pages from “Start Me Up.” You may also want to include some images of your shop, family and/or background if it is unique and interesting. Remember that you are wanting to bond with your reader. Anything you can do to create common ground or to establish your personality/who you are is a good thing.

11 Acknowledgements This is where you give thanks to those in your life who have made this possible. It is always good to be grateful for those who have encouraged you, helped you and who have stood by you as you have built your business. Always remember to thank your customers!

19 Introduction Who you are Tell about your company and what sets your apart from every other repair shop, including the dealers. WHY they should read this book and WHAT you hope they get out of it. You can even use this section to “tease” them with what they’ll learn as they read.

21 Conclusion Thank them for reading your book Ask them to place a copy in their glove box Ask them to buy copies for others – Child, Friend, Family member – Buy from Amazon or from you Call to Action – What do you want them to do next?
