5  Motivated by “Pleasure or / and Money”!  Often unqualified for anything else – sold insurance, cars or houses…  Housing boom saw influx of under-qualified, inexperienced “candidates”  Registered at the EAAB as a candidate and after a year, became a Full Status Agent! OR  Wrote the EAAB “Board Exam” – (multiple choice of 18 credits) – became a Full Status Agent

6 In terms of access, the target group comprises: 1.under-qualified adult candidates, with some level of professional training but no formal qualifications to recognise workplace learning 2.Some with formal qualifications (exemptions) 3.candidates lacking L4 Fundamentals in some or all of the 56 credits – 1 st language L4 – 2 nd language L3 – Numeracy L4

15 Equivalence based on Equivalence Matrix compiled by EAAB (Dept of Labour) and SSETA (Dept of Education) Exemption against the qualification(s) based on formal qualifications from formal education – RPL Exemption Portfolio of relevant qualifications and evidence or relevant experience RPL – experience, but no relevant qualifications: – partial exemptions through skills programmes (short course) – partial exemptions through matric certificate (all or some fundamentals) (56 cr) – Partial exemption through Fidelity Fund Certificate (18Cr)

41 Application Process  A Discretionary Grant Application must be made to be awarded Services Seta bursaries by: Host Employer Company (registered with Services Seta as a levy paying member company thru SARS) Accredited Training Provider (MNA)  Application will be for FETC: Real Estate NQF L4, SAQA IF 59097 unemployed learners  MNA guides and advises employers on this process.

42  EAAB & Services Seta have collaborated to form The Property Forum  Industry representatives from various sectors within “property” industry (includes VOASA)  Manage the Regulations & Act concerning industry education and training requirements  Manage the Professional Designate Exam  Manage Continuous Professional Development  National Road Shows to explain

43  The EAAB Manages this process in conjunction with Accredited Service Providers who: Prepare candidates for the PDE Host the PDE and conduct the assessment Upload the results to the EAAB  The PDE comprises knowledge assessment, based on compulsory book A case study May use computers, open book, resources  Candidates have 2 years to achieve the PDE  5 yr FFC holders are Exempt from PDE

44  The EAAB Manages this process  Comprises a 3 year cycle of credit accumulation  Credit bearing events publicised by EAAB,  Events held by accredited service providers (MNA)  Some events will be compulsory, e.g. Consumer Protection Act  Other events will be elective  Credits may accumulate towards qualifications / articulation
