2 Copyright NQ plus2 What is it? It is the final summative assessment of applied and theoretical competence, over time and back in the workplace. It is a portfolio of evidence of competence (in file format), which is compiled by the learner using a specially designed assessment guide. It is a nationally-recognised, officially approved way to become qualified.

Learners can: Turn best practice principles learnt on training into a HABIT (internalising learning through ongoing practical application) Achieve a nationally-recognised and internationally benchmarked National Qualifications Framework certificate. Achieve National Qualification Framework credits towards a full qualification. Become certificated/qualified without having to leave the workplace, using everyday workplace activities to prove competence. ‘Show their stuff’ – the assessments are practical and enable you to add value back to your workplace. It’s never too late to learn or to carry on learning... Invest in Yourself!

6 Copyright NQ plus6 External Provider Responsibilities To advise NQ Plus of an assessment need via order form – so that resources may be scheduled To print out assessment guides (if you have none developed please discuss with NQ Plus) and hand over to learners scheduled for assessment To brief the learners on the assessment process, timeframes and requirements, and have them sign declaration to that effect in the assessment guide. To assist learners as needed with assessments while they are collecting evidence. To collect all assessments and submit to NQ Plus once the learners are completed. To ensure that copies of all assessments are kept in the event of POEs being mislaid en route. To pay NQ Plus no later than on submission of assessments for the summative assessment and moderations requirement, as per agreed assessment rates. To upload learner data to the relevant SETA’s database – as per your own accreditation requirements To organise and generate (or request from SETA) certificates of competence for distribution to the learners, and distribute them as per own policy.

7 Copyright NQ plus7 NQ Plus Responsibilities To ensure trained/competent assessors and moderators are registered to assess/moderate the required unit standards with the relevant SETA. To allocate resources per job on receipt of order form. To acknowledge receipt of assessments received. To assess and moderate assessments on receipt thereof from the provider. To return POEs to the provider once completed. To generate assessment and moderation reports and submit these to the provider.

8 Copyright NQ plus8 The learner’s Responsibilities To fully commit to the process To fully complete everything requested in the assessment guide To involve their manager and team in their progress To ask for help where needed To complete and submit the evidence on time.

9 Copyright NQ plus9 The manager’s role To ensure commitment of learner to the assessment before registering them for the process. To track the progress of their learner through regular meetings and interest shown in completed work To give the learner a chance to apply the assessment in real work situations – ie delegate activities which support the learning. To give succession planning learners a chance to exercise their competencies through the allocation of special projects, and be able to complete the assessments needed.

An order form needs to be faxed to NQ Plus on 0880215565856, indicating your need for assessment, what is to be assessed and the expected number of learners (please request this form). You will be invoiced on receipt of order form. On or before the due date, the client provider is tasked with the job of collecting and sending the completed POEs to the following address: Attention: NQ Plus Networks, Unit D7, Collingwood Bldg, Black River Park, Fir Street, Observatory, Cape Town. LEARNERS/PROVIDERS MUST MAKE & KEEP COPIES OF THEIR POES. IF THEY GO MISSING IN TRANSIT THIS REMAINS THE LEARNERS'/COMPANY LIABILITY.
