4 Progression Criteria All students need to pass 100 credits (by September) To include all PFP modules on your programme Students who fail a PFP module even after August resit, must change programme, or take a year out and resit as an external student. Students who only pass 80 credits (but pass all PFP modules) can progress on an ORDINARY degree (and can redeem HONOURS if they make up the credits in subsequent years). 5 Resits for ‘coursework-only’ modules  Apply (and Pay) on-line as for a normal resit  Details of the resit coursework will be posted on the VLE on 7 th July (results day)

8 It is important to know…. Year 2 will get a lot HARDER…. Each module will have different recommended text-it will be your responsibility to acquire these. The level of Maths in Physics lectures will increase You will come across new material (content never seen before) and it will be delivered fast.

19 How Does Pal Work? How does PAL work? Two trained Mentors lead a group of 15 – 20 first year students Compulsory for Year 1 Students Sessions based on lecture notes/ homework / general uni life Sessions should be informal and relaxed; a safe place for students to ask about things they don’t understand

20 What are the benefits of being a PAL Mentor? You will develop a wide range of skills such as: Time Management Teamwork Communication Plus many more skills You will also gain a deeper understanding of Physics yourself
