4 Mobile solutions Migration of mobility solutions to IP networks
IP DECT Alarming and location-based services Integration with call manager and network management FMC: Increased interest from operators and customers for mobile extensions Dual-mode Wi-Fi/cellular terminals Seamless networking on-site/off-site Mobile extension services for cellular smartphone users SIP DECT WiFi Dual- Mode WiFi/GSM Aastra continues to invest in DECT, as this is a reliable, technologically mature and price competitive solution for enterprise mobility which demands excellent speech quality, scalability and air interface capacity. IP DECT brings an interesting alternative for converged mobility coupling an IP trunking capability with Aastra’s proven DECT air interface solution. SIP DECT goes a step further and provides the customer with an Open Standards interoperable mobility solution. A further benefit for the customer is that unlike most of our competitors, Aastra’s mobility solutions are our own intellectual property thus eliminating dependencies on outside parties. WiFi is also part of the mobility strategy but Aastra does not provide WiFi infrastructure. Interoperability tests are done with the main infrastructure providers of the market (Trapeze, HP Procurve, Aruba, Meru….) Lastly, Fixed-Mobile Convergence is a another key component of Aastra’s Mobility Solutions. Our Aastra Mobile Client (AMC) and Aastra Mobile Client Controller (AMCC) provide customers with a rich Global Mobile phone mobility solution. The solution is flexible, based upon customer needs, and common to all Aastra Call Manager solutions. One number Aastra Strategy & Roadmap 4
