Organizing your desktop folders Learning Target: I can organize my desktop folder so that all of my digital photographs, formative projects (Do Now’s), and summative projects are in individual folders.

Rubric: Organizing Folder  Exceeding – You will have 7 folders with the same names as the examples and all photos, documents and information will be included in each. When I ask you to find a summative assignment you will be able to go right to it in the appropriate file.  Meeting – Everything is in a folder, but some photos, documents and information are in the wrong folders.  Approaching – Only some folders are created, photos, documents and information are not organized, but are all in the student folder.  Beginning – Student folder is created, but only some folders are included and not all photos, documents and information is in folder. Missing items and student cannot find assignments when asked.  No Evidence – folder is not created, no photos, documents and information are included, no effort is made to organize folder.

Your folder should look like this:  About Me  Basic Elements  Best Works  Do Now  Mandala  Student Business  Vocab. Worksheet Harris, Teri **Tip 1 – everything should be in a folder. No extra photos floating around in your folder, no Do Now’s, etc. **Tip 2 – your digital photographs should be organized and in the folders for each assignment that you were doing at the time.

Inside the folders, examples:  Best Works - About Me - Basic Elements - Mandala - Student Business  Do Now - Do Now Week 1 - Do Now Week 2 -Do Now Week 3 -Do Now Week 4 -Do Now Week 5 -Do Now Week 6 -Do Now Week 7 -Do Now Week 8 -Do Now Week 9 -Do Now Week 10

Make a document with a tip Using Pages, Microsoft Word or Photoshop create a document with photos and words that describes one of the lessons and what you did to complete the assignment. What is the best tip you can think of to pass along to another student who will be doing the same assignment next semester?

Learning Target I can create a document using Pages, Microsoft Word or Photoshop to explain one of our photography lessons and pass along a tip I’ve learned.

Example: Color, Line lesson Pattern Color Shadow Line

Color Color can be added after you take the photograph or you can look for colorful subjects like flowers or people wearing colorful clothes. Sunsets and sunrises also make good photographs to show off color.

Line Lines can be found in many places. The best examples of lines for photographing are in architecture like this fence or the lines on buildings. Lines are sometimes found in nature when plants grow in a pattern.

Pattern Repeating patterns can be found when things are placed on top of each other or next to each other. Different colors add to the interest, but aren’t necessary.

Shadow Shadows are best created when you have a sunny day so that you can find subjects that can cast interesting shadows on the ground or on a colorful background. You can also use a light to shine behind your subject and cast a shadow.

Save your document  Create a new folder titled Photography Tips.  Save your new document in this folder.  **You will be using these in a future lesson as part of your Best Works presentation as the final grade for this class.

Great Job!  Give yourself a pat on the back and your classmates on each side of your station a high five!  Reflect on how much you have learned in the past 12 weeks of photography class. *** Career fact – you know more than most adults about how to create folders and organize photographs and documents.
