MOVE TIME Western Carolina University and the University of North Carolina System

What is Move Time? Move Time is a process within the Banner HR/Payroll module that allows for Leave Cascading

What is Leave Cascading? Cascading is an automatic process that will affect how leave taken by leave earning employees is processed in the Banner HR/Payroll system This process will run with every monthly payroll

What is Leave Cascading (contd.)? The information reported on your timesheet or leave report will automatically process during the regular payroll cycle. For example, leave accrued (earned) for the current month (i.e. November) and time taken for the prior month (i.e. October) will be deducted according to the required order. In the following slides, the Cascading process MUST use comp time earned before other leave with the exception of Sick and Community Service Leaves.

Cascading Comp Time Types of Comp Time and the Order in which it is Deducted OCCT – On Call Compensatory Time – If an employee has a balance in OCCT that covers the time taken, STOP. CTOT – Compensatory Time Off 1.5 – If OCCT available does not cover the time taken, the amount will be deducted from CTOT, STOP. CTGP – Gap Hours Compensation Leave, "Equal Time Off" – If CTOT available does not cover the time taken, the amount will be deducted from CTGP, STOP. CTUC = Compensatory Time University Closing – If CTGP available does not cover the time taken, the amount will be deducted from CTUC, STOP. If comp time available does not cover the time taken, then Cascading will continue depending on type of leave taken. How it Works

Check Your Leave Balances Please check your leave balances in MyCat prior to completing your leave report or timesheet to ensure that your leave balances are correct. You can view your leave earned and taken per month by clicking on “TYPE of Leave.”

What is New Additional codes beginning with the letter ‘C’ were created for internal leave processing to support the new leave reporting procedures. These codes DO NOT affect your pay. You will see these on your Direct Deposit notice and on your leave balance report on MYCAT. CODES USED FOR LEAVE INTERNAL PROCESSING ONLY: “C” Codes are NON-CASH Codes: CAdvWTk Cascading Adv Weather Taken CBonusTk Cascading Bonus Leave Taken CCommTk Cascading Comm Service Taken CSickTk Cascading Sick Taken CShareTk Cascading Shared Leave Taken CVacaTk Cascading Vacation Taken

What is New SPA Non-Exempt Employees will no longer report Leave Without Pay (LWOP) on their timesheet. They should complete their timesheet with the type of leave they took that day. If leave balances are insufficient, the Cascading process will determine the Docked amount.
