2. Welcome to EBSCO’s Flipster for mobile devices tutorial. Flipster is a next-generation digital magazine service where users can access their favorite magazines from a variety of publishers. Users can access through their local libraries via a web browser on their mobile device, and download magazines to read offline, anytime, anywhere on a custom app made specifically for the iPad or iPad mini. In this tutorial we will look at searching for magazines in Flipster on a mobile device, as well as reading a magazine in the viewer and using the Flipster iPad app.

3. From the Home screen, there are several browsing options available to you. View magazines by category by tapping a link in the Categories box. Browse magazines using the Latest Issues or All Issues carousels using the arrows on the left and right. Tap on a cover image to read the magazine in the Flipster viewer.

4. Searching for your favorite magazines is easy. Simply enter your search terms in the Find field and tap Search. Search terms can be a specific magazine title or a subject of interest. In this example, we will browse for news and politics magazines by tapping the News & Politics link in the Categories box to view a result list of all related titles.

5. On The Flipster result list screen, you can sort your results by Title, Date, or Relevance. Simply tap the sort drop-down and select your preferred method.

6. When you have found a magazine you would like to read, tap the Read This Issue link.

7. The magazine opens in the Flipster mobile viewer. Tap the Menu icon in the top left to view the available options

8. From the Menu, you can view the Table of Contents and pages of the issue, search for keywords within the issue, and access all available issues of the magazine.

9. From the Pages menu, go directly to any page in the magazine by tapping an image.

10. From the All Issues menu, open any available back issue by tapping the cover image.

11. If you are viewing Flipster on an iPad or iPad mini, you can also download the free Flipster app from the iTunes store. The Flipster app allows you to download issues from the Flipster site and read them offline anytime. Please note, this option does not appear when accessing from any other device.

12. When you tap Open in App, the Flipster app opens and the issue begins to download to your device. When the issue is finished downloading, it appears as NEW in the library. Tap the magazine cover to read it.

13. Swipe your finger left or right to flip through the pages of the magazine.

14. Tap Library to return to your library of magazines in the app. Tap the icons in the upper right-hand corner to view a visual table of contents with linked thumbnail images, or a list view of the table of contents with links to each article.

15. From the drop-down menu in the upper right-hand corner you can view recently downloaded magazines, or a complete list of all titles you have downloaded.

16. When you have finished reading an issue, tap the trash can icon to remove it from the app.

17. At any time, you can click the Help link on the Flipster site to view the online Help system.
