1 Windows XP Migration Jumpstart Offering Offering Datasheet The Challenges With less than one year until the end of support for Windows XP, customer are recommended to be underway with migration from Windows XP to a modern operating system to avoid risks and increased support cost: Unsupported Business Software – with security fixes and support for Windows XP ending on April 8 th 2014, Independent Software Vendors have already stopped testing new software versions on Windows XP and new releases of critical line of business software may require Windows 7 as a minimum. Unsupported Hardware – hardware vendors and OEMs have also stopped testing new devices on Windows XP. Many currently shipping devices will not support Windows XP and device drivers will not be available. Increased Support Costs – Software Assurance will not provide support past April 2014, so customers requiring support on Windows XP will need to have a Windows XP SP3 Custom Support Agreement (CSA) in place incurring costs for enrollment, per hotfix fees and per device fees. If a Windows XP SP3 CSA is not in place at the expiration of Windows XP, then this may cause issues with organizational standards, regulatory and/or compliance policies.
