Special Light Sport Airworthiness Certificates Can Be Used For Instruction And Rental Meets Consensus Standards By ASTM Maintained And Inspected By Repairman with Maintenance Rating Or An A & P Mechanic If Used For Instruction Or Rental Condition Inspection Is Required Every 100 Hours Experimental Light Sport Certificates Can NOT Be Used For Instruction Or Rental *Exception Maintained By Owner Condition Inspection Can be Done By Owner Who Is A Repairman With An Inspection or Maintenance Rating Can be used for Instruction for 5 Years from Effective Date of Rule. 9 Sport Pilot/ Sport Pilot CFI Certificate
Sport Pilot Certificate or Flight Instructor Certificate With a Sport Pilot Rating: No Category or Class Ratings Category or Class Privileges Endorsed in Pilot Logbook New FAA Form For Airman Certificate Ratings And Proficiency Checks Credit Experience Towards Higher Certificates And Ratings Probably the most significant difference you will note with the new sport pilot certificate and the sport pilot CFI is that category and class ratings will not be listed on the airman certificates. Rather than traditional ratings, the proposal has established category and class privileges. These privileges are established through endorsements carried in the pilot or flights instructor logbook. Unlike the ultralight rules, these new FAA certificated pilots will now be able to credit all experience gained as sport pilot or sport pilot CFI towards higher certificate levels. Primarily because they are flying certificated aircraft and have an FAA pilot certificate. A very positive benefit of the rule.

Task: National Airspace System Objective. To determine that the applicant exhibits knowledge of the elements related to the national airspace system by explaining: 1. Basic VFR weather minimum-for all classes of airspace 2. Airspace classes- their boundaries, pilot certification, and airplane equipment requirements for the following - B, C, D, E, G 3. Special use airspace and other airspace areas. TASKS ARE IDENTIFIED BY CAPITAL LETTERS; (A, B, C, ETC.) AND ARE KNOWLEDGE AREAS, FLIGHT PROCEDURES AND/OR MANEUVERS APPROPRIATE TO THE AREA OF OPERATION. THE TASK IS FURTHER BROKEN DOWN INTO A NUMBERED OBJECTIVE.

WITHIN APPROVED STANDARDS MASTERY OF THE AIRCRAFT NEVER SERIOUSLY IN DOUBT SATISFACTORY PROFICIENCY SOUND JUDGMENT SINGLE-PILOT COMPETENCE CREW RESOURCE MANAGEMENT Part SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE IS BASED ON THE APPLICANT’S ABILITY TO SAFELY: (1) PERFORM ALL TASKS WITHIN THE APPROVED STANDARDS; (2) SHOW MASTERY OF THE AIRCRAFT WITH THE OUTCOME NEVER SERIOUSLY IN DOUBT; (3) DEMONSTRATESATISFACTORY PROFICIENCY AND COMPETENCY WITHIN THE APPROVED STANDARDS. (4) DEMONSTRATE SOUND JUDGMENT; (5) DEMONSTRATE SINGLE-PILOT COMPETENCE IF THE AIRCRAFT IS TYPE CERTIFIED FOR SINGLE-PILOT OPERATIONS. (6) CREW RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (NEW TO THE D ATP PTS).

EXAMINER INTERVENTION INEFFECTIVE VISUAL SCANNING CONSISTENTLY EXCEEDING TOLERANCES FAILURE TO TAKE PROMPT CORRECTIVE ACTION 1. ANY ACTION OR LACK OF ACTION BY THE APPLICANT WHICH REQUIRES CORRECTIVE INTERVENTION BY THE EXAMINER TO MAINTAIN SAFE FLIGHT; 2. FAILURE TO USE PROPER AND EFFECTIVE VISUAL SCANNING TECHNIQUES TO CLEAR THE AREA BEFORE AND WHILE PERFORMING MANEUVERS; 3. CONSISTENTLY EXCEEDING TOLERANCES STATED IN THE OPJECTIVES; 4. FAILURE TO TAKE PROMPT CORRECTIVE ACTION WHEN TOLERANCES AR EXCEEDED. WHEN A TASK IS FAILED, THE ASSOCIATED AREA OF OPERATION IS FAILED, THEREFORE THE TEST IS UNSATISFACTORY. THE TEST CAN ONLY CONTINUE WITH THE CONSENT OF THE APPLICANT. NO FURTHER TESTING IS AUTHORIZED UNTIL THIS HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED.

Weight-Shift-Control Category Rating – (Land and Sea Class) Powered Parachute Category Rating - Privileges -- Night (Aircraft Certificated)* Above 10, 000 Feet MSL All Airspace (Aircraft Certificated) Any Other Private Pilot Privileges… At the Private pilot certificate level the rule has established two new category and class ratings; weight-shift control (land and sea class) and powered parachute (land and sea class).
