3. Accreditation Concept Clubs have to reach minimum criteria to become accredited Allows parents and new members to see that the club conforms to certain standards Encourages clubs to take on development & best practice Makes it easier for clubs to apply for funding

Current Schemes Sport England Clubmark is used by national governing bodies of sport (NGBs) as part of their club accreditation programmes for sports clubs with junior sections in recognition of a quality club. There are 4 categories: - The Playing Programme - Coaching - Duty of care and ethics - Club Management www.sportscotland.org

Current Schemes The BJA Club Recognition Scheme BronzeSilverGold  The BJA has developed its recognition scheme as a whole club development programme (not only work with children and young people as in clubmark).  Relevant to those working with adults and is comprehensive regardless of the size of membership, status of facilities or how often they meet.  The Scheme has three levels, which are bronze, silver and gold.

A self declaration form will need to be completed to sustain the award.
