5  Please review all information. We know, it’s a lot, but it is IMPORTANT– you want to graduate, don’t you?  Remember, these are minimum requirements for in-state WA Colleges! Many colleges require more! Every college can have their unique set of entrance requirements. Check each college’s website for details.  Students who earn a Full IB Diploma will follow their own particular diploma requirements as determined by IB.  Partial IB candidates still need to meet Edmonds graduation requirements

6 1.0 credit required Example: Choir, Clay Design, Fundamentals of Art, Drama, Band, Orchestra, Drawing, Jazz, Photography, Studio Art, Drafting 1.0 credit* *California colleges want 1.0 art class, UW and WWU require.50 art; the other.50 can be met by taking extra academic courses EWHS Graduation Requirement: Minimum 4 Year College Requirement:

Honors and IB or advanced coursework recommended Colleges now require a math-based class in the senior year (for example, chemistry, physics, statistics, alg 2, pre-calculus, calculus, etc.). 9 EWHS Graduation Requirement: 2.0 credits required Class of 2015 and beyond must pass Biology EOC! Minimum 4 Year College Requirement 2.0 credits required (3 recommended)  Universities require a high school physics course for those who want to take engineering  Colleges require a continuous year of biology, chemistry or physics.  WWU requires a full year of chemistry or physics. EWHS Graduation Requirement: World Language is not required in order to graduate from EWHS Minimum 4 Year College Requirement 2.0 – 3.0 credits required Public in-state schools require 2.0 credits of the SAME world language. Many other colleges require 3.0 credits or more.

10  Sample classes include: ASL, Accounting, Video/Film Production, Auto Basics, Drafting, Chef, Interior Design, Child Development, Relationships, Computer classes, Photography, Marketing, Sports Medicine, Sno-Isle Intra-District classes, and more!  See Course Offering sheet for more info. 14 Part 2 - But… how are YOU doing on YOUR requirements?? Don’t worry, we have a tool to help you figure this out! (Please distribute the individual report to each student)

15 You will get a report that looks like this:

16 You should now have your Graduation Status Report. The first column shows how much credit is REQUIRED for each subject, for example: Coursework Req. Required Arts 1.0 English 4.0 English 9 1.0 English 10 1.0 etc.

17 The next column shows how much credit is COMPLETE for each subject, for example: Coursework Req. Required Complete Arts 1.0 1.0 English 4.0 1.0 English 9 1.0 1.0 English 10 1.0 0.0 Understanding Your Graduation Status Report

18 The next column shows how much credit is IN PROGRESS* for each subject, for example: Coursework Req. Required Complete In Prog. Arts 1.0 1.0 0.00 English 4.0 1.0 0.00 English 9 1.0 1.0 0.00 English 10 1.0 0.0 1.00 *In Progress means that you are signed up for or you are currently taking the course.

19 You can ignore these columns: Next Yr. Future (these are not applicable at this time) Pay attention to: The REMAINING column shows how much credit you still need to complete for that subject. These are the classes and credits from which you need to register in March!

20  Review your Grad Status Report and focus on the “Remaining” column. Use it to figure out what classes you need to take next year. It is your responsibility to make sure you are meeting all graduation requirements!  Begin visiting the curriculum guide on EWHS counseling website (Registration for classes tab on left)to read course descriptions and learn about course offerings at: www.edmonds.wednet.edu/ewhs  Please keep your Graduation Status Report. Go on Skyward if you want to see more specific information regarding your Graduation Requirements.
