3 French adjectives:  Describe nouns  Must agree in gender with the noun they describe  Many feminine adjectives end in ‘e’  Are gender markers  Generally are placed BEHIND the noun they describe

5 Note:  If an adjective ends in an e (not é) An extra e is NOT added: Un garçon sincèreUne fille sincère Un élève timideUne élève timide

6 Pronunciation note:  Final consonants are not pronounced in French:  Grand – petit – blond  When the e follows a consonant, the final consonant is then pronounced:  Grande – petite - blonde
