2 To figure out what a question is asking follow these steps: 1.Find the question word and figure out what it is asking* 2.Find the verb and figure out what it means. 3.Figure out the subject† of the sentence (the subject will match the form of the verb). 4.Put this information together. *Sometimes there is no question word. Instead, the verb acts as a question word. †Sometimes the subject is not stated, and you will have to figure it out from the verb.

(The verb is van, a form of ir, which means to go.) 3.Figure out the subject† of the sentence. (The subject is ustedes, which means you all, Notice that this matches the form of the verb) 4.Combine to where, go, and you all, rearrange and add a question mark. ¿Adónde van ustedes?
