Operating from offices in Kensington and High Wycombe, SPML employ 400 people within the UK. SPML is one of twelve organisations to hold the Financial Advisers 5 Star Service Award. Challenges To update existing business processes to enable all customer records to be held and processed electronically. SPML had to meet with UK regulation requirements set by the FSA, which demand that mortgage lenders retain records of all customer history, from start to finish of the relationship. To provide all staff with immediate access to required documents, removing the need for costly off-site storage of paper based materials. The introduction of an audit trail for all supporting paper documents and internal process, eliminating the need for time consuming manual administration procedures. Solution After a detailed review of their processes and Vignette’s product offering, SPML engaged with Vignette in 2002. Combined with a proven history in the mortgage sector, Vignette’s flexibility and commitment to the project fulfilled all initial project requirements, whilst displaying the functionality to expand with the organisations needs. Results Since introducing Vignette IDM, SPML has increased customer service levels by 40%. This number is expected to increase further during the next year as SPML benefit from increased efficiencies. Vignette IDM enables additional volume of loans to be processed at no extra cost. All customer files are now managed electronically, enabling staff to immediately find all the information pertaining the loan and effectively respond to customer queries. SPML is able to meet the requirements set by the FSA, both now and into the future. There are future plans for the creation of enhanced customer self service functionality feature, including the introduction of direct debit services.

ACE has seen a drastic increase in the number of policies written and an increase of 185% in revenue with no additional cost.

17 Vignette Corporation ©2007 17 Student Loans Company Limited The Student Loan Company is the sole issuer of student loans in the UK with a loan book totaling over $1.7 Billion. 600,000 loans are issued annually to a customer base of 1.8 Million in the UK. The 800 staff members at the 2 different locations are able to track and prioritize cases, automatically able to retrieve data, and return customer documents without additional staff needed.
