Key Facts In the last 70 years alone, the number of people aged over 65 has doubled 20% of the population is over 60 Over 30 years from 1995, the number of those aged over 80, will rise by 50% Similarly, the number of those aged over 90, will rise by 100% Those over 65 (15%), account for 40% of spending in health and social care
