Multisports – This will continue to run on a Friday next term. Please fill in the attached club letter and return it to the school office as soon as possible. Thank you. YEARS 5 & 6 SCHOOL PRODUCTION This year’s school production is “Pirates of the Curry Bean”. The performance will take place on Thursday 16 th July at the Landmark Theatre in Ilfracombe and tickets will be on sale in the school office next term. The children are very excited and looking forward to putting on a great show! This is a wonderful opportunity for all children and parents to see an expertly produced and performed show at a superb venue. PARENT GOVERNOR ELECTIONS Thank you for participating in this election. A total of 55 votes were cast. It was a close run contest and Natalie Stanbury was elected by a small majority. The children discussed how to keep safe in and out of the water, they were shown how the Lifeguards help people and the type of equipment used. SWIMMING GALA – 28 th April On Tuesday 28 th April a number of children took part in the Swimming Gala held at Ilfracombe Swimming Pool. The children did extremely well and it was a wonderful opportunity for them to show how fantastic they are at swimming. We reached the finals of the girls’ backstroke and the girls’ freestyle. INSPIRE AFTERNOONS – 22 nd & 29 th April The children in Willow and Oak class have once again enjoyed having their adults alongside them in the classroom to share in the school experience. The children had a great time, we hope the adults did too! BLUEBERRY CLASS WATERMOUTH TRIP – 30 th April Willow and Blueberry Class enjoyed a lovely sunny day at Watermouth Cove and Broadsand Beach. The children learnt all about the tides and how to tie a reef knot. They also had the opportunity to try Geocaching but unfortunately had no luck! CRANBERRY AND STRAWBERRY WATERMOUTH WOODS The children enjoyed exploring the woods as part of their topic on Minibeasts. SUMMER CLUBS Don’t forget to book a place at our Summer Club. If you would like to book, please bring your form back to the school office as soon as possible. Thank you. E-SAFETY TIP Be careful what you post on the internet. Remember, what you post online stays online FOREVER even if you delete it! There is a useful link on our school website www.net-aware.org.uk This website has a stay safe guide on the social networks you or your children may use. Fun local events 27 th May St Anne’s Art Centre FREE drop-in workshop for families making and decorating wall hangings to be used in St Anne’s building. 11.00 - 4.00 p.m. 28 th May For over 8’s. Printing workshop. £12.50 for whole day. Book with Dion via email stannes@barnstapletowncouncil.co.uk On Friday 29 th May there is a scavenger hunt on at Barnstaple Library. Children will find lots of natural materials on Castle Green and then go back to the library to make and decorate a clay face. For ages 8+ £2.50 per child, please call 01271 388593 to book. PARKING Please remember to park in a safe place when dropping and collecting your child to and from school. HAVE A HAPPY HALF TERM! SIGNING IN BOOK Please would you ensure that children are signed in when entering or leaving school at times other than the normal start and finish times. SNACKS Please can children bring only fresh fruit (no Fruit Strings, Fruit Zingers etc in wrappers) for their playtime snacks. Thank you.
