2 NUS Presentation Title 2001 o Syllabuses of overseas module and mapped NUS module should be similar in terms of contents, contact hours and assessments. o ESP students are NOT ALLOWED to repeat foundation Year 1 and Year 2 modules while on SEP. o Module(s) read on SEP must be on graded basis and not on a pass/fail basis 2 Credit Transfer Rules Credit transfer rules (students admitted from AY2014/2015 onwards) Limit allowed for transfer (MC) 50% of degree requirement must be done in NUS with assigned Letter-grades ‘A+’ to ‘D’, ‘CS’ grade or ‘S’-grade) i.e. 50% of 160MC = 80MC in NUS 80 60% of major requirement must be completed in NUS i.e. 60% of 110MC = 66MC in NUS (APC, exemptions, credit transfer are not considered as read in NUS) 44 MINOR (if any) : min 16MC of MINOR requirement must be read in NUS8 Credit transfer rules (students admitted from AY2013/2014 and BEFORE) Limit allowed for transfer (MC) 50% of degree requirement must be done in NUS i.e. 50% of 160MC = 80MC in NUS 80 65% of major requirement must be completed in NUS i.e. 60% of 120MC = 72MC in NUS 48 MINOR (if any) : min 16MC of MINOR requirement must be read in NUS8

3 NUS Presentation Title 2001 3 Steps to get module(s) approving for mapping Note : o Be sure to get all mapped modules approved BEFORE you leave for SEP. Otherwise you might run the risk of not being able to transfer any credits back if the mapping is not approved. o Syllabuses of overseas module and mapped NUS module should be similar in terms of contents, contact hours and assessments. o Start the mapping approval process at least 2 months before you leave. It is preferred to start as early as you could. Don’t leave till the last minute. Steps 1.Check if it is ESP modules?  No.  Get the correct forms from http://www.eng.nus.edu.sg/sep/mapping.htm. Follow steps as mentioned accordingly in the weblink.http://www.eng.nus.edu.sg/sep/mapping.htm  Yes.  See A/Prof Anjam Khursheed in person with the below mapping form to seek approval. 2.Submit Study Plan List all approved modules in the study plan (including non-ESP modules) Attached all evidence of approval/emails together with study plan Submit to A/Prof Anjam Khursheed in person for endorsement. Return original signed copy to ESP office (Ms Violet), duplicate copy to Office of Undergraduate Programme (EA-04). Keep one copy for own reference.
