1 SYDNEY MEDICAL SCHOOL NEPEAN HONOURS STUDENT APPLICATION PROCESS Step 1 - Once qualified, look for a supervisor at Nepean Hospital in your area of interest. Step 2 - Together with the supervisor, a project is planned, submitted to Professor Wall as Chairman of the Honours Programme for Nepean Hospital to determine the suitability of the project and the proposed time line and the suitability of the supervisor. Step 3 – If the project requires Human or Animal Ethics, you will require approval from the Nepean Hospital Human Ethics Committee before you can begin, and the project will require full Scientific and Human Ethics review and approval. (This can be as simple as an amendment to an existing Ethics Approval.) Step 4 – Nepean’s Honours Coordinator Professor Jack Wall, will meet with all supervisors with their student(s) for a short (10 min) meeting to discuss the proposal and related issues (such as human ethics and supervision). At that meeting the suitability and feasibility of the project, and the back ground, training and suitability of the supervisor(s), will be determined before approving the project.
