1 CMS Week – UCSB Gantry Status – March 15, 2005 – Dean White 1 Weekly Status Report Production: 84 hybrids bonded last week, all tested fine. 45 modules assembled on the gantry – all grade A for component placement One plate had was aborted because of glue tip being too long. Sensors ended up having to be removed, cleaned and re-assembled. It looks like this resulted in scratches on 3 of the sensors. Over the last 150 modules that have been built. There have been 8 scratches that have resulted in ~ 16 pulled bonds. Abrasion of the sensors may be contributing to this although at least the first 2 scratches were before we started abrading. Some of the scratches look completely different as seen in the following slides. No sensor data on scratched sensors. Have in creased cleanliness around abrading area and are visually inspecting sensor we head set magnifiers.

3 CMS Week – UCSB Gantry Status – March 15, 2005 – Dean White 3 Wire Bonding Module wire bonding as kept up with modules production Having more than usual problems with the bonds at the ends of the 6 chip PA’s. Frequently having to make rebonds. Having some problem in the middle of a couple modules. Looks like it could be from insufficient glue between the PA and the ceramic spacer.
