3 What is EOP? Established in 1969 under SB 1072 Provides academic support and retention services to historically low income and educationally underserved students Targets students who have the potential to perform satisfactorily in the CSU but have not been able to realize this potential because of economic or educational background Provides admission, academic, and financial assistance to accommodate the needs of the individual campus student population Tailors their programs to accommodate the needs of the individual campus student population

5 Provides orientation sessions to help students learn about campus services and programs Provides tutoring, advising and specialized retention services Provides transitional support such as the Summer Bridge Program Awards EOP grant to eligible students What Can EOP Do for Students ?

6 Who May Apply? Historically low-income and educationally underserved undergraduate students who need admission assistance and support services to succeed in college Students who demonstrate academic potential and motivation

7 EOP applicants must meet the low-income guidelines listed in the table below: DEPENDENT STUDENTS FAMILY MAXIMUM TOTAL SIZE PARENTAL INCOME 2$33,200 3$37,000 4$42,900 5$48,300 6$54,500 7$59,200 8$63,800 INDEPENDENT STUDENTS* FAMILY MAXIMUM TOTAL SIZE STUDENT/SPOUSE INCOME Single, No Dependents $11,800 Married, No Dependents $20,600 Other Than Spouse *For independent students with dependents other than, or in addition to, a spouse use the income for the appropriate family size in the Dependent Students category. Refer to the EOP application for further income details. Who May Apply?

8 Applying to EOP Students must complete and submit an application for Undergraduate Admission to the campus before applying to the EOP program. Application to the Educational Opportunity Program includes: 1) Completed Undergraduate Admission application to the campus 2) Completed EOP application with: Applicant Information form Two Recommendation forms

9 Online Undergraduate Admission Application: Step 11 (www.csumentor.edu)www.csumentor.edu ** Students must first submit an online Undergraduate admission application before completing the online EOP application.
