5 Facts about Britain *The population of Britain is 58 million. *The official language is English, but in Wales and Scotland Celtic languages are spoken. *The term British refers to people, places and things from England, Scotland and Wales. Each kingdom also has its own identity.

7 The capital city, London, is in the southeast and is situated at both sides of the River Thames.

8 Weather in Britain Britain has all four seasons. winter, summer, spring and qutumn

10 It sometimes snows, but mainly in Scotland. The weather is often different across the country.

21 British food English Breakfast

22 Breakfast Between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00p.m. A traditional English breakfast consists of eggs, bacon, sausages, fried bread, mushrooms and baked beans. A typical English breakfast is a bowl of cereals, a slice of toast, orange juice and a cup of coffee.

23 Afternoon tea This is a small meal, not a drink. Traditionally it consists of tea or coffee served with scones, sandwiches or pastries.

27 Lunch Lunch - between 12:00 and 1:30 p.m. Many children at school and adults at work will have a 'packed lunch'. It consists of a sandwich, a packet of crisps, a piece of fruit and a drink.

32 Red deer feed on grass. In summer they only feed in the morning and in the evening. They also have strong teeth.

33 Sheep Some sheep are kept for meat. Others are kept for wool.

34 Squirrel Squirrel live in forests. They eat fruits and nuts.
