4. How to Help Your Child Succeed 1.Check with your child each Friday for next weeks schedule. Look on my website’s homework page. 2.Provide a set time-frame for homework/study each night in full view of you, not behind closed doors. 3.Check with your child to be sure they are doing homework. 4.Encourage your child to correct mistakes made on papers and tests. 5.Help your child study in advance for tests by reviewing vocabulary, notes, labs and the review sheet.

5. Some Ways I Help Your Child 1.Provide multiple exposures to the material to meet their different learning styles. 2.Teach organizational skills. 3.Incorporate technology into the classroom. 4.Teach for understanding rather than just for memorization. 5.Arrange for specific expectations, assessments, and time-frames for children who are learning disabled. 6.Cover all Life Science objectives tested on the 11 th grade MEAP.

6. PROJECTS WE WILL DO CELL PROJECT (November) Construct a brochure advertising an attraction like an amusement park based upon the functions of the cell parts. (see my homework web page for links to the instructions and grading rubric)
