People with disabilities (PWD) in Latin America: There are approx. 90 million PWD in the region. 70-80% of children with disabilities do not have access to education. 70% of PWDs in Latin America are unemployed. Youth in Latin America Youth unemployment rates have increased by 23% (from 1995 to 2005). In some Caribbean countries, youth unemployment triples adult unemployment, reaching as high as 56% in Dominica.
