3 Timeline for Senior Year October-November Credit check letters (Sept) Prepare your college applications Request Letters of Recommendation Check Private Colleges – dates vary December Research Financial Aid/Scholarship Opportunities January-March File FAFSA and GPA Verification Form – March 2 Apply for Assist-A-Grad April Continue researching Scholarship Applications Notifications from colleges Take Assessment Tests – as Necessary May Make your Final Decision UC/CSU Deadline for Intent to register – May 1 June Graduation!! Send Final Official Transcripts – Before end of June – check your campus requirements

4 College Admission Testing SAT and ACT All colleges use both SAT and/or ACT with Writing Most schools accept scores through the December test date of senior year Subject Exams are optional for UC’s– check individual campuses/majors Be sure to have scores sent to colleges

5 California State University Application Fee: $55.00 Apply on-line at October 1–November 30 th at www.csumentor.edu www.csumentor.edu 3.0 minimum eligibility Apply to more than one campus if possible – many campuses are impacted Eligibility index based on GPA and test scores Many campuses require December transcript CSU Workshop Date: October 6 th, 1:15 p.m.

8 Letters of Recommendation Use letter of recommendation form Available in the Counseling Office Please allow recommender minimum of two weeks to prepare letter. Important component in some college and scholarship applications Not required for UC or CSU applications

9 Transcript Requests Unofficial Transcripts Senior transcripts sent in mail - September Used to enter courses on college applications Please review transcripts to ensure accuracy Official Transcripts – Mrs. Simpson Please allow 5 working days for pick-up or mailing Electronic transcripts – Be sure to include Mr. Floyd as your counselor contact Pay close attention to college requests for official transcript submission – Typically December and June
