2 Pathlight School  The first Autism-focused school in Singapore that offers a unique blend of mainstream curriculum and life skills training  School fee: $400 per month  Special Needs Does Not Mean You Get Less!!

4 Curriculum Model

5 Building blocks for ASD students  Work habit  self management  functional communication and social skills

6 Social Skills Training  Subjects such as social skills, daily living skills, leisure skills, project management skills, gymnastics, language skills are offered  Do not offer mother tongue as part of the curriculum.  Each child will have an Individual Education Plan

7 Satellite Schools  4 nearby ordinary secondary schools are satellite schools  Coalition formed by the government  The school coaches bring secondary students to 4 satellite schools every day for attending lessons by school coaches.  The school spent more than 1 million Singapore dollars for the transportation a year, and the school raised it themselves

8 Vocational Track  This is for aged above 12 with no intellectual impairment who are severely autistic, and highly anxious about language.  They will learn functional English only in English lessons.

9 Give Recognition  Free of charge talent programs (IT, Choir, Design, Art)  Run a gift shop to show products  Print students’ drawings on chairs in the library

10 Teaching Strategies  Low teacher-student ratio (2:12)  Clear boundaries  clear schedules  individual work system with detail task analysis  clear communication style  positive behavioral support

11 Focus on Gymnastics

12 Staff training and coaching  2 week induction orientation and 10 week new teachers mentoring  Run certification course in Autism Studies  Classroom coaching and feedback  On the job training  External workshop, seminar and weekly staff sharing  There are 18 psychologists in the school

15 Model Living Room for learning social skills in daily life

16 Autism Resource Centre (Singapore)  An organization set up by parents  ARC(S) aims to highlight the needs of autistic individuals and to increase understanding and awareness of autism in Singapore

17 Core Service  Pathight School  Employability and Employment  Early intervention  Training and consultancy  Student enrichment  Therapy services  Library and info services  Assessment and diagnosis  Autism products

18 WeCAN Early Intervention Program  Locate within Pathlight School  Provide 4 trainings per week, with 1.5 hour each  Teacher: child ratio: 1:1 to 1:6

19 E2C: Employability & Employment Centre  Locate with Pathlight School  Non Pathlight students can enroll to E2C  A model hotel room, a Starbuck Café, an office, a bakery were located within the Centre  The student canteen of Pathlight School is operated by students of E2C
