1 Standard Compare the German, Italian and Japanese drives for an empire in the 1930s and relate that drive to the role of appeasement, nonintervention (isolationism), and the domestic distractions in Europe and the U.S. prior to the out break of World War II Can you say that in terms I will understand?

2 The Crying Child “A mother took her 5 year old son into a crowded candy store. The boy asked his mother if he could have some candy, and she said he couldn’t. So the boy cried and threw a tantrum, and demanded he get some candy. Wanting to avoid a public scene, his mother bought him some candy. He ate the candy and asked his mother for more. His mother said no, and again the boy began to throw a tantrum and cried.” In a short paragraph, explain what the mother should do. Why should she do this?

24 Front Page Create a front page for the “Rodri Times” reporting on yesterday’s Munich Conference between Hitler and Chamberlain (Make sure you have the correct date!) The center should be a picture of one of the two, or both leaders. Your article should explain what happened at the conference, how it ended, and your own commentary on the Munich Agreement.
