Pesticide Applicator Recertification Oregon Department of Agriculture

Certification Maximum 5 years –Commercial Applicators –Public Applicators –Consultants –Private Applicators Can recertify by exam or accumulating course credits.

Recertification Courses Commercial Pesticide Applicator Public Pesticide Applicator Consultant 40 total credit hours No more than 15 credit hours per year No requirements for category-specific classes that are taken

Recertification Courses Private Pesticide Applicator 16 total credit hours No more than 8 credit hours per year 4 credit hours must be of “core” type

How We Accredit Classes Courses are submitted by sponsors on special form with detailed agenda. Evaluated by ODA staff to see if courses meet state standards. 50 minutes = 1 credit Enter classes in computer and send sign-up sheets to sponsor.

Applicators’ Credits Sponsors send completed sign-up sheets back to ODA after course. ODA staff enter data which is applied to each licensee record. Attendees can look up credits on the web and get an annual report of courses taken.
