3 LONG TERM GOAL  The necessary set of skills, methodologies and related teaching approaches shall be adopted to develop higher order thinking skills in students to meet the ever coming challenges.

4 SHORT TERM GOAL  To create a situation that enable the students to engage in such situations in which they can think, work and make their own judgments.  Children of all capabilities should be able to play an active role in class discussions.  To improve the result of weak students.

6  At the end of the topic students will be able to identify the various tools used for measuring weight.  To display and use the units of different denominations for weight example. 1kg, 500g, 100g, 50g.  Getting familiar with daily use items which require measuring prior to being used or prior to being bought.  Conversion of a bigger unit into smaller ones and vice versa to facilitate calculation and measurement. 8 Methodology To generate interest in the topic teacher should settle down students and ask them to sit straight and listen carefully.

12 Challenges and Solutions o Students find the subject difficult resulting in lack of interest and determination. o There might be some students which feel shy in working in form of group rather prefer to work individually. o Lack of interest and self- determination makes the task more challenging.  To develop such methods which are encouraging and attractive for students.  As every class has different kind of minds, such situation should be dealt accordingly to the comfort of the students.  Students will be encouraged through activity-based learning.

15 Measurement of Weight A balance is used to compare weight of objects A balance has 2 pans The object in the lower pan has more weight than the object in the upper pan When the pans are balanced we say that the mass of both the objects is the same. To find the weight of an object we place it on a pan of balances. On the other pan we put standard weights till the pans are balances When the pans are balanced we say that the objects in both the pans are of the sane weight.

16 We can also measure weight with the help of an electronic machine the weigh of the object appears on the machine.
